Daughter In Law rules my sons home, why does he let her?

Is it normal that my daughter in law wants everything to revolve around her family. I live in Mississippi and come to Cincinnati once a year. She was MAD when I spent to much time at their house. My sister and I came over to bring gifts to their new baby. And she was MAD. Didnt treat us very good, just sort of nice. My son wanted to come to Mississippi for vacation and now their going to Florida with her family. My son didn't have a good time 2 years ago with them in Florida and now she insist on going again with HER family. I think he was worried about telling me they wasnt coming here. I am very easy to get along with and will never cause my sons to feel bad, but I just want to know if this is common, maybe not normal ,but commom. I told my other son that I will definately shorten my time in Cincinnati next time. I won't go to their house again, but will ask them to come to my mom's or somewhere out to eat if they want to see me. I want to see my new granddaughter, buy my daughter in law doesnt really want me around for some reason. I don't understand that either. I' ve never treated her bad, nor ever will. It does hurt inside that I will never get to spend much time with my son the rest of his life. I even feel like when I call him on the phone, there's a timer running for him to get off the phone. Has anyone else experienced this? I just want to chat about it here. Thank you,, Gayle
