My skateboard is really heavy (i'm a beginner)?

Light boards are easier to maneuver, so they are easier to learn on flat ground. But heavier boards with stiffer trucks are better for downhills and speed. I'd start with a light board with loose trucks to learn maneuvering, and have a heavier, wider board with tighter trucks for speed runs.
